NFHS Memorandum: 2012 Rules Clarifications & Corrections

Please note that the NFHS has released a new memorandum detailing some rules clarifications and changes for the Spring 2012 season. We request that all ILOA members take a moment to download and read this new memo before the start of regular season play in March.

NFHS 2012 Rules Test Available Now

The official NFHS 2012 Rules Test has been posted by US Lacrosse and is available now for all current members. Please be sure to head over and take the test before the start of the Spring 2012 season and be sure to email the results from your test (at the end) to info@idlaxref.org. You will be required to supply your US Lacrosse Member ID # in order to take the test. We (the ILOA) are members of the MDOC District 11 so please be sure to appropriately select “District 11” and “Idaho Lacrosse Officials Association” for your affiliations.

Please note that you can always access the link to the tests via our main menu (located on the right of the site).

US Lacrosse/NFHS 2012 Rules and Interpretation Video Posted

We have uploaded the latest NFHS and US Lacrosse Rules and Interpretation video for the 2012 season. The video is fairly short and we highly recommend watching it a few times in order to make sure you completely understand the new points of emphasis and timing changes that have been implemented for this new season. Please note that this is the same video that will be shown at our annual refresher training session as well as the new officials training course.

2012 Officials Resources Available

We have just posted up the latest officiating resources for the 2012 Spring season in our Resources section of the site. Here you will find the new US Lacrosse 2012 Men’s Officials Training Manual as well as the NFHS 2012 rules changes and updates in *.pdf format.

It is highly recommended that ALL current and new ILOA members download and review this information before the Spring 2012 training sessions. These materiais will be used throughout our training and having some familiarity with their format and content should improve your training experience. To download these materials please use the links below or access our entire library of officiating resources in the “Resources” section above.

Spring 2012 New Officials Training Schedule

[Update] Due to scheduling conflict, the February 18th training session will be held at Centennial High School now.

The Spring 2012 season is just around the corner and that means it is time to dust off the cleats and iron those stripes! Below you will find the dates for the new officials training clinics hosted for free by the ILOA. Please note that in order to qualify as an ILOA official you will be required to attend the 3-day course during the week or the single session Saturday clinic.

February 7, 8, 9 (Tues-Thurs) – 7:00pm @ Lax ID (click here for location)
February 18th (Saturday) – 10:00am @ Centennial High School (click here for location)

Please note that these training sessions are targeted toward new officials. Current ILOA members are still required to attend our yearly update training session, but are more than welcome to also attend our new officials clinics.

ILA Men’s Summer League: Calling ILOA Officials!

The ILOA is currently looking for officials who are interested in officiating in the 2011 ILA Men’s Summer League. We will be offering a quick one day refresher training to go over specific rules and mechanics as well as discussing general level of play. Anyone interested in officiating for the summer league can please get in contact with Nate McIntyre via email.
